Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT, 1971/72
REV. C ARTHUR CHAMBERLAIN

Educated at Stockport Grammar School, Arthur worked in a bank for seven years before taking Holy Orders and graduating B.A., from Durham University. Curacy at Hoole, in 1938 Bolton, then served two years as an Army chaplain in North Africa and Italian campaigns, 1945-51, Rector of Burnage, to Bushbury, Wolverhampton in 1956, before being installed as Rector of Whitchurch in 1964. During his stewardship major restoration projects including the re-building of the organ and removal of the side galleries, were initiated in 1970 at St. Alkmunds. Amongst many appointments were the Governorship of Sir John Talbot and Whitchurch Modern schools and chairman of the League of Friends to Whitchurch Hospital. He died whilst on holiday in Devon.
Joined Rotary 30/6/64. Died 22/1/73. Wife President of Inner Wheel 1971/72, 1976/77.
