Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT, 1993/94
DAVID H. WILLIAMS

Born in Holyhead, Anglesey and attended Holyhead County Secondary School (one of the first comprehensives) before graduating BA (Hons) Geography in 1963 from Birmingham University, and his certificate in Education in 1964. He then attended the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, gaining his Master of Education in 1974 - His thesis : the History of Education in the Bahamas, 1831-1973 ! He then taught at Selly Oak Boys Sec. Mod, Birmingham 1964-66; Chase Terrace Comp, Staffs, 1966-68; Queens College, Nassau, Bahamas, 1968-73; Bradon Forest School, Purton, Wilts, 1974-79; St. David's School, Wrexham, 1979-82 before assuming the headmastership of Sir John Talbot's School, Whitchurch from 1982 to 2001 (the third Whitchurch Rotarian headmaster from this local school). In Rotary his main activies have involved Youth Activities and Foundation, leading the District Group Study Exchange team to Mexico in 1998 and serving on the District Foundation committee.
Interested in most sports, including baseball, season ticket holder at Wrexham FC, playing soccer, cricket and golf at various levels including representing the Rotary club. Travel and mountain walking in particular, organising Rotary charity walks and one-time member of the successful club Quiz team. Churchwarden at Bangor on Dee church and member of Jubilee Sailing Trust. Collects the works of Henry Williamson.
