Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT 1952/53
W. VINCENT BIRCHALL


Vincent Birchall was the second generation of his family to join his father in the family Ironmongery and General Agricultural merchant business in High Street, Whitchurch, adjacent to Bradburys, butchers, and unusually an iron-fronted building. This business closed in 1971. He was one-time President of Whitchurch Chamber of Trade, Whitchurch AODS and a member of Chester Road Bowling and Tennis club. He served with the KSLI in World War I and in the second conflict as a special constable.
He joined Rotary on 12 June 1945. Died 2/4/1983, aged 87 years. His wife was Inner Wheel President 1952/53.
His son, PHILIP R. BIRCHALL, joined his father, Vincent, in the family business as the third generation. He joined Rotary on 21 February, 1956 till 5 September, 1972, re-joining 7 August, 1990, resigning 1 July, 1993, when he retired to Nottingham. He died 3 June, 2004.
