Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT 1986/87
PETER R WAGSTAFFE

Attended the Wesleyan School and Whitchurch Grammar School. In 1946 started work at Trufood, manufacturers of babyfood, as a trainee engineer. Whilst there, attended CreweTechnical College, gaining a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering. Became shift engineer.

A keen motorcycle trial rider, Peter became secretary, then Chairman and then President of the Whitchurch Motor Club.
In 1962 he joined Laundrycraft at Whitchurch Model Laundry as a maintenance engineer and became group engineer looking after the group of 6 companies.
In 1968, Peter branched out on his own and bought Wharf Motor Cycle Depot. In 1974 this moved to Green End assisted by wife Joan and son Andrew until retirement in 2000. During this time he became Chairman of the Chamber of Trade.
In 1977, was elected councillor to Whitchurch Town Council becoming Mayor in 1995 for a two year term. Peter has been a member of Whitchurch Waterway Trust since it's inception and is a past Chairman.
