Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT 1958/59
JACK A. MATTHEWS


Was educated at Malpas Alport School. During the 1914-18 war served in the Royal Flying Corps as an instrument mechanic. On demobilisation he worked for Crossley Motors in Manchester. On his marriage he formed the Bridgewater Garage, Whitchurch - now Motor World premises - in 1928 along with his brothers-in-law Tom and George Harris (President 1973/74). Founder member of the Probus club and the first driver/fireman/engineer of the Whitchurch Fire Brigade when it became motorised. He was a prominent freemason. He retired to live at Bispham, Blackpool. Joined Rotary 5/11/46. Died 8/7/74, aged 75 years. His wife President Inner Wheel, 1958/59, secretary 1952/56.
