Visitors Welcome

We meet in the Dodington Lodge Hotel every 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for Dinner, every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 12:45pm for lunch, and if there's a 5th Tuesday, we meet at 7:00am for Breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

PRESIDENT 1989/90
DEREK LANGFORD
Born and educated in Market Drayton, he embarked on the grocery trade upon leaving school, but interrupted by army service at 18 in the KSLI, serving in Kenya, Suez Canal and Germany. On demob trained with the Co-Op until he married and joined local firm Edward Jones and Son, in High Street, Whitchurch. He then moved to the Witch Ball Hotel, Prees Heath, where he worked with Rotarian Bill Thompson before his final move to TO Williams, Bakers, Confectioners and Cheese specialists, as manager of their Whitchurch and Wem shops. He was a respected judge at cheese fairs locally and nationally. He was involved in many local activities, including Presidency of the Chamber of Trade, but Rotary took up most of his spare time.
Joined Rotary 17/2/1981. Died 28/10/98 aged 62 years. His wife President of Inner Wheel 1989/91; secretary 1985/87 and 1988/89. Their son Andrew member Whitchurch (1999/2000) and Chester Deva Rotary clubs.
