From three days to two weeks or more, why not get away from it all on one of our superb narrowboats. For three-day breaks we recommend heading north where it is an easy day's cruise to the River Trent. Here, you have a choice of routes- the River Trent towards Nottingham, the Trent and Mersey Canal or the Erewash Canal; each has its own character. On longer cruises you could head south through Leicester with its fascinating mix of modern waterfronts, industrial heritage and parks, and on through remote countryside to the impressive staircase locks at Foxton and Watford Gap. In a busy week or leisurely fortnight you could complete the `Leicester Ring'. A three-week holiday gives you a choice of circular routes including the River Thames.

Whichever route and duration you take you will enjoy the contrasting rural and urban scenes, abundant wildlife and the relaxing effect of slowing down to nature's pace on waterways that have changed little in two hundred years.

Although the boats have a well-equipped galley, why not treat yourself at some of the waterside inns, many of which are as old and interesting as the canals themselves. These and other features are detailed in the on-board guidebooks.

If you have any qualms about handling a boat, fear not! They are easy to control and full instruction is given to all who require it.

  1. Weekend rate applies to any break, which includes one or more Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holiday.
  2. The 7-day rate is reduced by 10% for second and subsequent weeks.
  3. We endeavour to be flexible and will try our best to accommodate your requirements subject to availability.
  4. A SECURITY DEPOSIT OF £100 IN CASH is required at the time of hire and will be returned in full within 7 days of the safe return of the boat and equipment by the agreed time and so long as no loss, damage or incidents have occurred.
  5. Millstream and Millpool are not available to all male or all female parties except by prior arrangement.

BOOKING
Telephone to ascertain that your preferred date is available. We will then hold a provisional booking for SEVEN DAYS pending receipt of your form and BOOKING DEPOSIT of half the hire fee. Credit card deposits can be taken by telephone if required.

CANCELLATIONS
In the event of cancellation by the hirer, if we are able to re-let the boat 75% of the deposit will be refunded, if not there will be no refund. We reserve the right to cancel any agreement to hire in the event of the river being in flood, mechanical breakdown or for any other reason beyond our control. In which event any deposit paid will be refunded in full and no further liability will be accepted.
